Photo: Woman Urinates on Actress for Allegedly Snatching Her Husband

haha no be small matter oh.
An “upcoming” actress whose identity is yet to be made known may have had her budding career already in shambles as she has taken up a role in a script which is definitely too big for her to handle.

The actress in question was said to have allegedly snatched the husband of a certain woman who, it was reported, had been patiently waiting to teach her the lesson of her life by publicly disgracing her – and exactly that is what the woman did to the actress!

The woman was said to have laid ambush for her in one of her outings, stripped her half naked and urinated on her as a sign of warning to leave her husband alone.

Meanwhile, information about the incident, which was said to have taken place in Port Harcourt, is still sketchy.

How I Escaped From Ritualists- 20-year Old Undergraduate

Not so many people get lucky when they fall in the hands of ritualists, so those that find a way out, usually feel obligated to to tell their stories and probably save somebody from such hell. A first year student of Health Technology at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Miss Grace Ayetan (20),  narrated her ordeal with ritualists to The Nation in Benin, the Edo State capital.
Grace, who was accompanied by her father, Mr. James Ayetan said:
“I boarded a bus from Ring-Road to school and there were other passengers in the vehicle. At Five Junction, the bus stopped and the conductor went down to pour water into the radiator. That is the last thing I remembered. We all fell asleep. “When another passenger, a woman, woke us up later, the bus was in the bush. Click to continue reading.

“We started shouting, but the driver and the conductor brought out a gun and told us to be quiet.
“They took us to an underground house in the forest and put us into different rooms. They chained us and hung our bags around our necks. We went without food and water for days.

“After beheading a woman and her baby, a fight ensued between the ritualists over what to do with the rest of us. In the process, a bunch of keys fell from one of them.

“The fight drew the attention of the guards at the main entrance who took the parties into a room to settle the dispute.

“That gave one of us the opportunity to pick the keys and unlock the chains. That was how we escaped.”
Grace said a good Samaritan took them out of the forest and brought them to Benin.
She advised the public to be careful when boarding commercial vehicles. Mr. Ayetan urged security agents to curb the activities of ritualists.

NYSC DG Gives Damning Verdict On Inspectors Who Extort Money From Corps Members

Almost everyone who has passed through the mandatory one year NYSC will not be surprised at the recent revelation by the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brig.Gen. Nnamdi Okore-Affia, that some of the inspectors of the scheme allegedly extort money from corps members.
Okore-Affia blamed the development for acts of indiscipline among corps members.
The NYSC chief stated this at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Inspectors Development Programme organised for inspectors in the South at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Sagamu, Ogun State on Wednesday.

Okore-Affia, who was represented at the event by the Director, Corps Welfare and Inspection, Mr. Emmanuel Obi, also said many of the inspectors had performed poorly.
He said, “As field officers who constitute the engine room of the operations of the scheme in the states, you are expected to be above board and act as role models and dependable mentors to the corps members. It is however regrettable that the attitude of many of you leave so much to be desired.
“Reports from the recent nationwide inspection and corps members’ forum indicated that some of you engage in acts capable of bringing the scheme into disrepute.
“Unwholesome practices such as delegating your responsibilities to corps members, non-residence in the communities where your workplaces are located, thereby leading to irregular attendance and poor supervision of corps members not only detract from the noble objectives of the scheme but negatively affect her corporate image.”

The army chief added, “The NYSC inspectors are today confronted with a plethora of national, state, community and corps members-related challenges, hence, they need to be adequately trained to competently handle issues and solve problems within the expected time frame.
“The scheme is being confronted with a lot of challenges ranging from astronomical increase in corps population, insecurity, corps rejection, inadequate camp facilities and dwindling welfare provision for corps members due to inadequate funding. With these enormous challenges the scheme needs to review its operations and evolve strategies that will reposition it for efficient and effective execution of its mandate.
“Therefore, managing the scheme at this particular time requires staff with dynamism, competence, requisite skills and ability to cope with the identified challenges and other demands of youth management for national development. It is in view of this that management has resolved to give adequate attention to staff training and development.”

Woman Who Says She Accidentally Set Her Husband On Fire

Unbelievables haven’t seized at all as a heartbroken wife has told how she accidentally caused a fire that killed her husband – by leaving a plugged-in hairdryer on his bed.
Beautician Bina Dawett Joshi left it smouldering under a towel as Ram Kumar, 57, slept after a heavy drinking session. Fire crews battled in vain to rescue him from the fierce blaze after neighbours raised the alarm on February 11.
Fire investigator Nigel Adams said Mr Joshi, who ran storage and packaging firms, was found on the landing but, despite the efforts of paramedics, could not be revived.
He said fragments of towel were found attached to the badly burnt dryer and added: “By covering the hairdryer up, it doesn’t allow for any ventilation at all.”
Coroner Robin Balmain said Mr Joshi died of heart failure due to carbon monoxide poisoning from smoke inhalation. He added that he had eventually become aware of the fire, but too late to save himself.

Real Madrid Could Sell Cristiano Ronaldo

On the Kick off is the story that speaks of the highly sought after Cristiano Ronaldo, who returned to Real Madrid training yesterday after the international break amid a wave of speculation regarding his future at the club.
The Portuguese forward has a release clause of €1-billion, but Real may accept a bid of €200-million if they cannot resolve his “unhappiness” at the club.
Ronaldo refused to celebrate his two goals during a 3-0 win over Granada at the beginning of September, asserting after the match it was because he is “unhappy”.
Los Blancos are determined to solve the crisis and will hold talks between the player, coach Jose Mourinho and president Florentino Perez, who has voiced confidence that the player will not leave the Bernebeu.
Ronaldo has emphatically denied that he is after a pay rise, although rumors persist that he wants an improved contract.
The superstar earns nearly €10-million a year, which is significantly lower than Samuel Eto’o's €20-million or Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s €14.5-million.
Spain’s tax laws were changed recently, with Real Madrid required to pay 52 percent tax on players’ wages compared to the current 24 percent.
If the club offer Ronaldo a contract of around €15-million, they will be forced to pay over €23-million each year after tax.
ABC news reports that two mystery clubs, believed to be Paris Saint-Germain and Anzhi Makhachkala, would be prepared to offer Ronaldo €20-million a year.
The no. 7, who was bought by Real for a record €100-million in 2009, could be set for another world-record transfer.

5 damaging myths about addiction by Adi Jaffe

Myths about addiction can make it harder for addicts to seek treatment and return to a normal life, a researcher says.
The subject of addiction is plagued by myths and misinformation that were created to scare our children away from drugs. But these haven't succeeded, and have actually made it harder for addicts to seek treatment and to return to a normal life.
As a former methamphetamine addict myself, I know how hard it is to overcome both the addiction and, possibly even more so, the stigma that society places on us because of these myths.
In fact, in a study I'm currently conducting at the University of California Los Angeles, we're finding even more evidence that one of the top reasons addicts put off treatment is a fear of the social consequences. In a nutshell, people fear the label of "recovered addict" more than they do the hardships of going "cold turkey."
Why? Because in many cases they risk facing social humiliation and a variety of legal restrictions on driving, housing, custody of children, business licensing, as well as an extended period of mandated drug testing, many of which stem from a misunderstanding of addiction.
Addiction: The disease that lies
In my own case, I'm still required to finish three years of drug testing before I can earn a state psychology license -- in spite of the fact that I've already received a Ph.D., been drug-free for 10 years, successfully completed a drug rehab program and undergone three years of previous drug testing.
Since September is National Recovery Month, it's worth taking a closer look at the top addiction myths that hold us back from a real understanding of what addiction is, what the real dangers are and how we should manage this national problem.
Myth No. 1: There is an addiction gene
There is no single gene, or set of genes, that determines whether or not a person will become an addict. And even if a person's parents are addicts, it doesn't mean they will be too. Current addiction research shows that roughly 50% of addiction tendencies are attributable to genes.
Inside the mind of an addict
That's a high percentage, but it still leaves half of the equation up to the environment and personal experiences. The addiction gene myth lulls many people into a false sense of confidence about their own drug use while paradoxically also discouraging many addicts from seeking treatment.
Myth No. 2: Marijuana is a 'gateway drug'
The addiction rate for marijuana is lower than that of alcohol, and there is little scientific evidence that it acts as a trigger for harder drugs.
While teen marijuana use is not to be encouraged, the real "gateway drug" risk might be from abusing prescription opioids and stimulants, like OxyContin, Vicodin and Adderall, or with inhalant drug use. These have strong addictive properties and more accessible to teens.
A 2010 study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse found that among 12th graders, 8% abused Vicodin and 5.1% abused OxyContin. Inhalant use peaks in the 8th grade at around 17%, far earlier than all other drugs.
Myth No. 3: Addiction is for life
This simply isn't true, and it places a huge emotional and psychological burden on recovered addicts. Addiction is a spectrum disorder, like depression, and every person is different.
While there are plenty of cases where addicts struggle for years to overcome a drug addiction, many more cases reveal the opposite -- short-term users who manage to put the past behind them and lead normal and productive lives. According to the National Institute on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse, 75% of alcoholics recover without treatment.
Myth No. 4: Drugs 'fry' your brain
Remember the 1987 anti-drug commercial that used a frying egg to show "your brain on drugs?" While drug abuse can be bad for the brain, it is a gross oversimplification to say that drug use generally causes permanent and severe brain damage.
This myth gives the impression that recovered addicts are "damaged goods" and sets the stage for discrimination by employers, health care providers and the legal system. That said, certain drugs are neurotoxic: methamphetamine, MDMA, cocaine and inhalants are a few examples. However, even with these types of drugs, the side effects, while undesirable, by no means produce a "damaged" person.
Myth No. 5: You have to hit 'rock bottom'
Here's why this is dangerous: If we wait until a person "bottoms out," it could be too late to help them.
Every person has a different "bottom." For some, it could be getting arrested or becoming homeless. For many, it's much less dramatic -- losing an important personal relationship, being confronted by family or doing poorly at work or school.
There is little evidence that the level of consequences a person accumulates before seeking help is related to their chances of succeeding in recovery. It's better to get help early than to hold out for the perfect desperate moment.

Police Officer's Wife Arrested For Armed Robbery

In what seems like an irony, the wife of a serving police officer, Mrs. Amechi Ofem, 44, and her younger brother, have been linked with an armed robbery gang. The duo have thus been arrested by law enforcement agents in Anambra State.

Mrs. Ofem was also accused of administering treatment to the leader of the robbery gang, Patrick Ogah, who sustained bullet wounds during an encounter with the police.
She was arrested in her residence in Onitsha by a team of policemen from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, three days after Easter Sunday. And her younger brother, Jude Eze, was nabbed in Ogbakogba in company with members of the gang at a hideout where they were receiving treatment.

But Ofem tearfully told Crime Digest that she was innocent. "All my life, I have had nothing to do with robbers until I got a call from my brother (Eze) sometime in March. He told me that he needed me at Atani to treat a friend of his who had been involved in a car accident.

"Although I didn’t know who this person was, I went to Atani. Ogah was wounded in his lower arm. During the treatment, which lasted three days, I dressed his wounds and gave him injections.

"The bullet was already out before I treated Ogah. I had no way of knowing that it was a gunshot wound. When I noticed that he had a broken bone in his lower arm, I advised him to go to the hospital. Eze told me he would take his friends to the hospital and I went back home to Onitsha,” she said.

Mrs. Ofem said she received another telephone call asking her to come to Ogbakogba, where her brother and his friends had gone to seek the services of a herbalist, who was also a bone setter.

She said: “After the broken bones were fixed, the herbalist asked my brother to invite the nurse who had been caring for his friend before he would set the sticks that would be used to support the broken arm. I got this call on a Saturday and told Eze that I couldn’t make it to Ogbakogba until after Easter.

“On Easter Monday, I finally left Onitsha for Ogbakogba. When I met Eze’s wounded friend, I applied Cicatrin powder to his wound, and gave him an injection and went back to Onitsha that same day. I was shocked when the following Wednesday, a SARS team from Lagos traced me to my shop at Fegge, Onitsha.

"They told me that I had to lead them to a group of fleeing robbers with whom I had been in contact. Although I was horrified, I agreed to cooperate with them. We had to board a canoe from Onitsha to Ogbakogba on that day. I never suspected for once that Eze’s friends were robbers.”
But on his part, Eze, the only son of five children, admitted that he had known that Ogah was a robber. He however added that he was compelled to help the criminal because of his kindness to him in the past.

FEMALE ROBBERY SUSPECT DELIVERS TWINS IN PRISON

Theresa Francis, an armed robbery suspect, from Ibusa in Delta State, who was remanded in Agbor prison months ago, has been delivered of a set of twins. Agbor prison officials, who confirmed her delivery on Saturday to Journalists, said her husband who also hails from Ibusa had since abandoned her in prison because of the offence for which she was held.

Below is how Theresa, a dealer in baby wears, was arrested...

She claimed that she boarded a vehicle on Benin-Agbor Express way with three male passengers already in the vehicle. As the journey progressed, the vehicle was stopped by men of the police high way patrol.
Police report, however, indicated that as soon as the three male occupants saw the police team, they escaped into the bush, leaving Theresa and the driver in the vehicle. As a result, the Police searched the vehicle and uncovered arms and ammunition in the vehicle for which Theresa and the driver were promptly arrested.
During interrogation, Olufamous.com learnt that the driver claimed he was hired by Theresa and the three men who escaped. But Theresa denied the allegation, insisting she knew nothing about any operation. “I am not a thief, how can I be pregnant and go for robbery?” she argued.
Mrs. Stella Oboh, President of a Civil Society group in the State, has appealed to the authorities to look into her case for the sake of her babies.

Photo: Woman Delivers Horse In A Nigerian Church

The unexpected happened on Monday, at the World Liberation Ministry on the old Sapele-Benin Expressway, Edo State, as a woman delivered a horse-like baby during a church service.

It was gathered that the worshipers who could not believe their eyes after the yet to be identified woman was delivered of the strange creature, took to their heels.

Speaking to newsmen, General Overseer of the church, Evangelist Silva Wealth, said the incident was unprecedented in the church, as he had at the prophetic service, received a divine revelation that there was a woman whose womb was being blocked by some supernatural forces.

He said as he and other church members intensified their prayers, the woman started screaming and after, the horse-like baby was delivered of her but it died some minutes later.

“I cannot describe the object. We have seen people that vomited strange things during church service but not such type of thing. God has been blessing our ministry with prophesies and miracles,” Evangelist Silva said.
