Police kills Bus Driver Over N20 Bribe



The refusal of a commercial bus driver to part with N20 bribe caused him his life as a police patrol team attached to Sapade area on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway shot and killed him instantly, patrol team had flagged down the Mazda bus on stop and check operation but the driver refused to stop before the overzealous police officer fired a gun shot at the bus which eventually left the driver dead.
The commercial bus driver was identified as Friday Sunday who was conveying bags of Garri in a Mazda bus marked KSF 432 XZ was shot dead by a police officer identified as Corporal Samson Yusuf over what an eyewitness described as the refusal of Sunday to part with money allegedly requested for by the police.
Angry colleague of the Driver went on rampage thereafter to protest the killing of Sunday thereby putting the town under siege while a patrol team belonging to the police was detailed to curtail the anger of the protesting youths.
Police officers on patrol were brutalised by the angry colleagues of the driver while attempt by the mob to set the police station in Iperu on fire was prevented by a combine team of mobile policemen drafted to the scene of the incident to calm the tension.
