Armed police men invade CNPP Chairman's Home in Benue state

Armed Police men Thursday morning invaded the Makurdi home of the Benue State Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, Mr. Baba Agan.
The uniformed security operatives who arrived the home of the outspoken opposition leader ransacked the premises for close to twenty minutes and left without removing any item from the house.
Narrating the incident to newsmen, Agan said he was away from home when the incident happened stressing that his wife, Mrs. Hembadoon Agan who was at home at the time confronted the officers who claimed that they were looking for some bad boys.
Corroborating the story, Mrs. Agan said she was at home at about 10am when the security operatives came calling.
According to her, “The four Police men came in a Hilux patrol vehicle which they parked right in front of our gate; two of them bearing guns matched into our house and started searching the entire house when my husband was away”.”I confronted them to know why they invaded our privacy without a warrant, they told me that they were looking for bad boys who they claimed we are habouring”.
”At that point, I alerted my husband but they
horridly left the house without taking anything, before my husband arrived home”, she stressed.
Meanwhile, the CNPP Chairman said he has made a formal complaint at the ‘D’ Division of the Benue State Police Command stating that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Division had claimed ignorance of the invasion.
When contacted, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer for Benue State, Assistant Superintendent of Police Ejike Alaribe said he was yet to be briefed on the matter.
